On 2 July 2018, as a part of the RuRES project financed under the Interreg V-A HU-HR Co-operation Programme 2014-2020, the second workshop was held in Osijek.
 

 

On 2 July 2018, as a part of the RuRES project financed under the Interreg V-A HU-HR Co-operation Programme 2014-2020, the second workshop was held in Osijek. At the beginning of the workshop, FERIT dean Dr. Drago Žagar welcomed the participants. After that, Dr. Danijel Topić gave a quick overview of the project and thus far achieved results. Further on, energy expert Jurica Perko gave a lecture on energy efficient public lighting with a focus on rural areas. The series of presentations was continued by Mario Primorac with a presentation on examples of utilization of renewable energy sources for irrigation and beekeeping.

Furthermore, Dr. Krešimir Fekete gave a lecture on levelized costs of photovoltaic systems in the cross border region. After that, Viktor Varju and Réka Horeczki presented the survey results. The rest of the workshop was held in the Laboratory for Renewable Energy Sources where Dr. Denis Pelin and Andrej Brandis presented a small scale photovoltaic and fuel cells learning platform. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Marinko Stojkov gave a lecture on energy efficiency in rural areas after which there was a final discussion.
